The 1999 FDA TMJ Implant Update booklet is now available. Some of our information may be similar to the material they present. To view the booklet on-line, please click on the following link.http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/consumer/tmjupdate.html To receive a hard copy of this booklet, write: FDA/CDRH Communications staff/ HF2-210 at 135 Piccard Drive Rockville, MD 20850.

Included in this new brochure is a MedWatch form for you to fill out if you are experiencing implant or implant related problems. The MedWatch form is to notify the FDA that you are having problems with your device. By so doing the FDA will be alerted to any problems developing with any TMJ devices. It is important that you fill this form out yourself and send it to the FDA. This form can also be obtained on-line from MedWatch - The FDA Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program. You also may wish to report your problem to Dr. Susan Runner, FDA Office of Device Evaluation, HFZ/410, 9200 Corporate Blvd., Rockville, MD. 20850. Please note your implant problem will only be documented when you file a form with MedWatch.

To view TMJ implant complaints and problems filed with MedWatch, go to the FDA's Maude Report Web site.
